Death<\/h2>\n

We offer our sincere sympathy to the Gaynor Family, Lisryan on the sudden and untimely death of Hal Gaynor at his home on 29\/05\/2019.\u00a0 Predeceased by his father William and sister Fiona. Hal will be sadly missed by his mother Helen, Sister Mary, Brothers Martin, Michael, James and Pat, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and his wide circle of friends.<\/p>\n

Hal reposed in Our Lady's Manor Chapel, Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford on Friday, 31st May, with. Removal on Sunday, 2nd June, from his residence to St. Mary's Church, Streete, Boherquill, for Funeral Mass at 1 o'clock, followed with burial in the New Cemetery. May he rest in peace.<\/p>\n

Launch<\/h2>\n

On Saturday, 25th May Streete Parish Park Vintage committee launched this year\u2019s Annual Vintage Day which takes place on Sunday, 30th June.\u00a0 The launch took place in Murphy\u2019s Crossroads Inn, Lisryan.\u00a0 Music was provided by Michael Cahill and a most enjoyable night was had by all.\u00a0 We wish to congratulate Pauline on the stunning job she has carried out on her bar and lounge and a sincere thanks to herself and Gerry for food and refreshments with their compliments.<\/p>\n

Thank you to all who supported the night.\u00a0 We look forward to June, 30th.\u00a0 All offers of help welcome.\u00a0 If you can help call Declan on 087 8123514.<\/p>\n

Sympathy<\/h2>\n

It is with profound sorrow and regret we report the death of Bernie Tighe, Streete after a short illness.\u00a0 Bernie is survived by his wife Anne, daughter Fiona and son Kevin, grandsons Frank & Padraig, daughter in law, Maeve, son in law Martin, Brother James and his extended family.\u00a0 May he rest in peace.<\/p>\n

Bernie will be sadly missed by all his many friends who will remember the many happy nights that he entertained us all at so many functions when he played his accordion in the company of Johnny, Jimmy, Stephen David and many more.\u00a0 Bernie\u2019s removal took place last Wednesday from his home for Mass in St. Mary\u2019s Church Rathowen on Wednesday followed by cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.<\/p>\n

CRR<\/h2>\n

There was a great attendance at the Irish Heart Foundation CPR training and demonstration in Streete Parish Park last week when three sessions took place.\u00a0 Thanks to Tracey Carthy and Shelia Keary Mulleady who organised the sessions.\u00a0 Don\u2019t forget our Defibrillator which is located at the front of our Centre is available twenty four seven and is a wonderful life saving service, thanks to Streete Parish Park committee.\u00a0 If you wish to support us please buy a Lotto Ticket @\u20ac2 each, three for \u20ac5 or an annual one for all draws \u20ac50.<\/p>\n

Vintage Meeting<\/h2>\n

Please note that there will be a Vintage Meeting in the Parish Park at 9p.m. on Wednesday, 5th June.\u00a0 This meeting is to discuss the forthcoming Vintage Day on June 30th.\u00a0 Everyone welcome including offers of help.<\/p>\n

Drop In Morning<\/h2>\n

Our monthly drop in morning will take place in the Parish Park on Thursday, 6th June from 11.00-1.00p.m.\u00a0 Everyone welcome.<\/p>\n

Lotto<\/h2>\n

The numbers drawn in Streete Parish Park Lotto Draw held on the 20th May were 5, 16, 19 26 and the winners were Jaden Hussey; Eleanor McIntyre; Tricky Wickie.\u00a0 Thanks to everyone for their continued support for our lotto: -<\/p>\n

Boherquill Ramblers<\/h2>\n

The Ramblers had a short walk of their own in Fore on Sunday 26 May 2019 before joining the Green Ribbon walk promoting mental health and sponsored by the IFA. There was a very good turn-out of Ramblers and many others who joined the walk, first visiting the ruins of Fore Abbey. The group then followed the 3km Nellie and Nancy loop walk on the lower slopes of the Ben of Fore, just outside the village.<\/p>\n

The route is named after Nancy McDermott and Nellie Dunne, two local women who walked the path together as children and young women.\u00a0 Thank you to Jane O'Reilly of Jane's Coffee Shop in Fore and all who helped to organise the walk and also to Jane's husband PJ who led the walk and passed on his knowledge of the history of the abbey to the walkers.<\/p>\n

On Sunday 9 June 2019 the Ramblers will walk in Edenmore Bog. Cars will leave Boherquill at 1.30pm and meet at 2pm at the car park at the start of the Edenmore Bog walk. To get to the start turn right at the Red Cow roundabout on the Longford bypass\u00a0 towards Drumlish and Arvagh; drive past the left turn to Ballinamuck; after a little over 1km turn right onto the L 50581 signed \u2018National Looped Walk Trailhead\u2019, the car park is 1km up the road, on the left. Cars will be pooled here to go to the start of the walk.<\/p>\n

Streete Wildlife Club<\/h2>\n

Round two of the summer league done and dusted over 50 guns competing on a slightly different course than last week. Top score on the night was 44\/50 and it was shared by Hugh O'Hara, Richard O'Rawe and Brian Higgins.<\/p>\n

This week we are hosting a charity shoot with all proceeds going to the heart children Ireland. The winner on the night will receive the Luke Kiernan perpetual cup; all shooters welcome even if you're not shooting in the league you can still shoot and support this very worthy cause. See you all at 7pm next Thursday.<\/p>\n

Coolamber I.C.A. Outing<\/h2>\n

Coolamber ICA Guild summer outing will take place on Wednesday, 24th July next.\u00a0 The destination will be Altamont Gardens and Rathwood in County Carlow.\u00a0 Non-members of ICA are very welcome to travel and a deposit of \u20ac50 is required before Wednesday, 5th June.\u00a0 For any further information please contact Mary on 087 6394044<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
