BEST WISHES: - this week go to Marian Denning who has been so much part of the Parish Park staff over the past year, and now that the scheme she was on has run its course she has had to retire and will be greatly missed by all who know her. The only good news is that she has agreed to stay as a volunteer to help with bingo and lotto in the Centre on Monday nights, as she has done in the past.

Last years event was a wonderful success and we trust you can support us by attending. Friends and relations are welcome to attend, which will make it more enjoyable. We are always asked to be more vigilant and to attend this meeting and learn what services are available to us. All welcome to attend, young and old which means it’s for you!

STREETE WILDLIFE CLUB: - Street wildlife club reached yet another milestone during the past few weeks when eleven of its members and wives /partners celebrated its 40th anniversary with a weekend away in Abbeyleix.
First stop was a meeting with Ray Dolan in Mullingar to make a live video then all back on the bus and onwards to Munshells restaurant, Tullamore for breakfast. We then proceeded onto Owen’s classic car collection Abbyleix, and with some very classy cars on show, Pat Denning got his chance to test drive a 1930 Porsche. Next it was onto the Irish fishing and shooting museum Durrow and after some tea and sandwiches the ladies left for Kilkenny city. Walter Phelan gave a very informative talk and then brought us on a guided tour of the museum.
Ireland's oldest pub Morrissey's of Abbeyleix was our next port of call where a “few pints of plain” went down a treat. Our final stop of the evening was Abbeyleix Manor Hotel for dinner and overnight stay. After a very enjoyable dinner Chairman Joe Kelly said a few words and made presentations to our three founder members. Brendan Mulligan, Pat Denning and Seamus Denning for their service to the club over the past 40 years. He also presented Mary Mulligan and Peggy Denning with a Bouquet of flowers for all their cookery skills displayed each Thursday night during night shoots. - Speaking of cookery skills, I must mention the excellent job that Denise Tighe made of the birthday cake, all staff in the hotel wanted to know how she made the duck? as the saying goes - "some can do it, but you know how" great job Denise well done.
A special word of thanks to Christy Salmon from Salmon bus hire Castlepollard - a great bit of banter with that man, and would highly recommend him for future trips away.
On my own behalf and I know I speak of the rest of the crew that travelled, a special word of thanks to our Secretary, Seamus for organising a great weekend from start to finish. - Happy 40th Streete Wildlife club!!
