Drop In Morning

We would like to thank Maureen McCormack and Maura Farrell from Age Active Ireland for attending our drop in morning in the Parish Park last Thursday morning. Maureen gave a lovely talk on the wonderful work age active does in bringing people together especially those who are in the retiring stage of life. Maureen explained why it’s so important to stay fit and active to maintain your good health and wellbeing at this stage of life, especially after we retire.

She also emphasized age active is open to anyone over the age of 50 with no lower or upper age limit. It was great to see so many people come out and support the drop in morning having a cup of tea and chatting to one and other. After the presentation from Maureen it was decided we would form a group and I am delighted to report a committee was elected and we have sent off our affiliation fees to Age Active Ireland.

Our new group will be called. Streete Age Active Retirement Group. The committee over the next number of weeks will focus on a range of social activities to suit all ages of our group and will keep you informed. If you would like to join our group or want more information please call Kevin 087 1375222 or call the office 043 6685926 and Anne and Mary will fill you in.
