Inny Football Club

The club is actively seeking U14 Girls to compete and play soccer, all girls born between 2013 and 2014 are asked to come along take a demo and play the beautiful game.

Boherquill Ramblers

The Ramblers met at Lismacaffry School on Sunday 13 September 2026 for a walk through Milkernagh Bog. The walk headed away from busy roads onto quiet bog roads and through wide-open spaces, with some areas left to go wild and some turf still being harvested here and there. Thank you to Deirdre and Eilish for organizing and leading the walk.

On Sunday 27 September 2026 the Ramblers will meet at 14:00 (2 PM) at the old Bord na Mona works on the Coole to Multyfarnham road for a walk along the old greenway to Lough Derravaragh and back [Please Note: this is a change to the previously advertised walk] on to Stone Park for a walk along the abandoned canal between Longford and Killashee. Coolamber ICA Guild

The Irish Countrywomen’s Association. The ICA ladies meet up on the first Tuesday of every month in Streete Parish Park at 7 PM, new members are always welcome to attend for more information call Sinead Butler on (087) 996 8138.

Streete & District Heritage Society

Streete & District Heritage Society is a group of like-minded people with a shared love of our local history. Our aim is to record the story of our parish townland by townland – its people, homes, families, and the journeys of those who left Streete for new lives around the world. We want to map the heritage remembered by local people: old field names, wells, gates, forges, Mass paths, hedge schools, old roads, ruins and forgotten places, along with the stories attached to them.

We also hope to reconnect old homesteads and families with our local cemeteries, including burial places where no headstone remains, creating a simple searchable grave and plot finder. Above all, we want to preserve the knowledge held in our community before it is lost – ensuring every townland, every family and every story has its place in the history of Streete. We are asking people of all ages to get involved.

Become an ambassador for your townland, family or particular area of interest and help us uncover and preserve its story. We would especially love to hear from people who have left the parish but still call Streete home at heart. Wherever in the world you may be, you can still be part of preserving the story of where you came from.

Community Notices

50/50 Draw

Streete Parish Park Committee are delighted to announce our seventh winner of our new 50/50 draw. Our winner who scooped over €500 in our new guaranteed fundraising initiative which will run Biweekly to start off. You can buy as many draw tickets as you want. 

You can also buy a draw ticket in the usual way at €5 for a draw number or €10 for three draw numbers. When the draw takes place, whatever amount of money is raised at the time of the draw, will be split 50/50 between the winner and Streete Parish Park. This system gives you have a much better chance of winning. 

All money raised will go directly into the upkeep of our community centre and future development. Our draws will be held regularly, our next draw 21st September 2026 with a minimum win of €500.

Seniors Alert Scheme

Have you got a Seniors Alert monitor? The Seniors Alert Scheme has provided peace of mind, reassurance and added security to older people in our community for many years. This free to install personal monitored alarm is a valuable support, particularly for anyone aged 65 or over who lives alone, or for those with mobility difficulties.

If you already have a Seniors Alert monitor, you may be eligible for an upgrade free of charge. Perhaps you have a family member, neighbour, or know someone in the community who could benefit from the scheme.

Saturday 26th September, from 09.30 AM to 15:00 (3.30 PM). Mullingar Recycling Centre, Clonmore Business Park, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, N91 X768. Please log into Mulleadys.com, enter the vehicle you will be driving when using the Civic Amenity and your current Eircode which must be in County Westmeath.

In order to confirm the booking, you will need a valid mobile number and use the text message containing verification code sent to you to complete the booking or else it will not be processed. Free of charge for only Bulky Items as per list.

Parish Park Community Centre Notes

Tenders For All Weather Astro-Turf Pitch

Planning permission has been lodged for our new all-weather Astro-Turf pitch, including ball-stop netting, floodlights, drainage and access pathways. We have been advised that the tendering process can now proceed, subject to planning. We sincerely thank our local representatives for their letters of support. Future phases will include consideration of a playground upgrade and running track.

Badminton

Badminton will start back on Wednesday 7th of October at 20:30 (8.30 PM) in Streete Parish Park. New members, improvers and beginners of all ages are welcome to join. Yoga

Pickleball is on every Monday morning and is doing very well, why not come along and take part in this easy to play game in great company. 10:00 AM till 11.30 AM.

The school's cross-country challenge is taking place at Belvedere House Mullingar on Wed 23rd September.

Streete Village Tea Party

We are delighted to confirm that the ‘The Tea Party’ is taking place on Saturday 10th October in Streete Parish Park at 20:00 (8:00 PM). This year the party will support Streete Tidy Towns and the community centre. A wonderful social event and an opportunity for parents, Neighbours, and friends to gather for a grand evening.

Streete Community Holistic Fair

We’re delighted to invite you to our free to enter event this coming Sunday 4th of October from 14:00 (2:00 PM) till 17:00 (5:00 PM). A welcoming event that brings together local practitioners, vendors, and teachers dedicated to supporting wellness of the mind, body, and spirit.

Lisryan Tidy Village Development

Lisryan Tidy Village Development in conjunction with Longford Women’s Link are holding a CHARITY CAR WASH! At Granard farmers mart from 11:00 AM til 16:00 (4 PM) on Saturday 19th September. Come along and get your car sparkling cleanwhile supporting two fantastic local causes!

The group are also Climbing of Sliabh Bán on Saturday, 26th September.
A great day out, a great challenge and, most importantly, supporting our local community.

Bishop Paul’s Visit

Bishop Paul Connell, will visit St Mary’s Church Rathowen on Monday September 21st at 19:30 (7.30 PM). The bishop will celebrate mass to mark the inauguration of the new diocesan adoration Committee. All are welcome to attend.
