Sympathies
Deepest sympathies are expressed to the O’Brien Family Corralanna, on the sad passing of Edward O’Brien, who passed away peacefully on March 29th He will be sadly missed by his loving family, children Amy, Stephen, Michelle, Kim, Laura and their partners, grandchildren Sean, Jamie and Kyle, brothers, sisters, extended family and friends. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the Reilly family Lisryan on the sad passing of Josephine O’Reilly. Josephine passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family. She is predeceased by her husband Tom, son Sean and infant daughter Teresa, and her grandaughters Lisa and Avril. Josephine will be forever missed by her family, son Thomas-J, daughters Cait, Roseann, Pauline and Aishling, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

To Frank MacMahon’ better known as Frank the barber who will celebrate 72 years of cutting hair. 66 years of these wonderful years have been as a barber in Granard. The young Monaghan man started his career as a barber in 1949 and has rarely missed a day in the shop serving the public. We wish Frank and his wonderful wife Bridie continued success and happiness into the future.
Census 2022
Enumerators are calling back to your homes to collect your census forms. The forms must have been completed on the night of the census, April 3rd, and will be collected by your enumerator shortly. What’s in a name:
It was regretful that at short notice we had to cancel the Active retirement evening last Tuesday, due to two of our guest speakers coming down with covid. Seán Ó Murchadha will return shortly to talk to us about what it means to have your name in Gaelic, Seán will elaborate on forenames in Irish and the local surnames found in our area and explain how the traditional meaning and location of surnames came about. Please keep an eye out in the notes for a new date.
Drive-in Bingo
Coming soon to the parish park. Charlie Bird Walk
We are delighted to hear Charlie's Climbs and walks all over Ireland in support of Charlie’s campaign in aid of Motor Neurone Disease and Pieta house have gone to plan and the weather held up. Streete Parish Park in conjunction with Boherquill Ramblers and Whitehall Hurling Club would like to thank everyone who took part. All monies raised will go to these great causes. Bingo
The Parish Park Committee are grateful to everyone who supports our online bingo. Bingo remains our main source of income and provides the funding to keep the lights on and all the bills paid. We remind you that there is up to €6300 in prize money to be won every Monday night on our online bingo and €3950 in our fortnightly Lotto draw. All we ask is you continue to support us to keep our community centre open.

Parish Park Walking Track Membership
We remind you that your membership is now due for renewal. New application forms can be found in the membership box at the entrance gate of the walking track or by calling into the girls on Fridays from 10 am until 2 pm. Single membership is €20, and a family is €30. Membership would make a great present to someone. Gift vouchers are available from the office or please ask any of the Committee or Kevin 087 1375222. Men’s Prayer Group
It was wonderful to see so many men coming together to pray and enjoy refreshments afterwards. We meet each Monday in the church in Boherquill at 8 pm. New participants are always most welcome to join us and receive the support of other men in their prayer and personal life.

Boherquill Ramblers
The Ramblers have often met at Mary Lynch's pub near Mullingar for a walk along the Royal Canal but on Sunday 27 March 2022 their walk included just a short walk along the canal to Footy's bridge, then it continued with a loop through Coralstown and Heathstown Bog back to base. Spring had definitely arrived with primroses flowering at the roadside and daffodils in nearly every garden along the way.
The birds provided the soundtrack from the trees which were bursting into leaf everywhere. On Sunday 10 April 2022 the Ramblers walk will begin at Killasonna School. Cars will leave Boherquill at 1.30pm and meet at 2pm at the school for an 8km road and farm track walk. A shorter route will be available.
