About Streete Vintage Club

Welcome to our page. A few words about us. Streete Vintage Club was established in the year 2002 by a group of enthusiasts who have a deep-rooted love for all things vintage. The club is based in Streete Parish Park Community Centre near the village of Streete in Co, Westmeath. Streete is centrally located in the heart of the north midlands and is in easy reach from Dublin just off the N4 at Rathowen Cross and within easy reach of all major towns such as Mullingar, Athlone, Cavan, Longford and Navan.  This is a block of text. Since our inception, our vintage show has grown rapidly in popularity and features very highly on the vintage calendar of events every year. In fact, Streete Vintage Show was chosen not once but twice to host the all-Ireland Vintage event by the National Vintage Association of Ireland. Since then, Streete Vintage Show has featured in many tv programs, radio and magazine publications and is now most commonly known as the midlands must-go-to show. Our annual vintage show takes place on the last Sunday in June at our Community Centre’s parkland.

Preparations for our show begin early in the year with our committee and members coming together to talk about and organise a list of attractions, musical events, and fresh ideas. To spread the word and promote our show, we hold an annual charity Tractor Road run and auction with items kindly donated from local business and supporters, this event takes place at the end of May which is very well supported and enjoyed by many. After the Vintage season has ended the proceeds collected from the Tractor run and auction are divided between two different local charities each year.

Our Monthly Meetings

Monthly members meetings are held in the Streete Parish Park Community Centre on the last Wednesday of the month (with the exception of December). At our meeting, we generally discuss what’s happening in the vintage scene around the country and for some, it’s a chance to chat about new places to go or diagnosing a problem or maybe the best place to source parts. The meeting is warm and friendly with lots of conversation and the general banter over a cup of tea and a sandwich in the company of like minded people.

Our Rules

Our rules are few and simple, all members must respect each other, be non-judgmental of others, we ask you to be thankful for what you have or don’t have, be proud of who you are and be empathic to your fellow man, help out when needed, Never steal another man's dream and treat others like you would like to be treated yourself, don’t fix what’s not broken or pretend to know more than you do, don’t bite off more than you can chew, ask other members if they’re ok and offer a listening ear when in doubt spit it out, keep your religious and political views to yourself and always be grateful for what you have.

Our Mission Statement

Our mission is to grow our membership and encourage future ownership of classic and historical vehicles machinery and memorabilia. Our goal is to be inclusive to all age groups by spanning the age gap of time to both male and female and those who hold a deep sense of pride and passion for all things vintage. We aim to create a fun element by making our club supportive to new members, enthusiasts and people who share a general interest. We promise to act as a custodian and educator of historical and vintage vehicles, machinery and memorabilia by using a voice which is understandable to generations past present and future. We will continue to work as a facilitator to other clubs by allowing them to display all things vintage at our annual vintage show and by helping others to promote the growing passion, appreciation and ownership of classic, retro and historic vehicles into the future. We aim to protect the regulatory environment affecting the use of such vehicles and promote public awareness of our club and the historic background of the vintage vehicle movement in Ireland. We aim to demonstrate the importance of being part of our club which can help to build and strengthen friendships and relationships with individuals who share a common interest and who are dedicated to the preservation, restoration and enjoyment of all things Vintage.

Our Ethos

The purposes for which our Club was founded are: for the development, publication and interchange of technical, historical and other information among members and other Clubs who own or are interested in all things vintage or who have a passion for fine or unusual motor vehicles built to serve a purpose or for such vehicles which are distinguished for their representative fine design, high engineering standards and superior workmanship. Our club will promote social exchange and fellowship among its members: Our club will endeavour to maintain references and encourage the maintenance, restoration, and preservation of all such vehicles and machinery into the future.
