Leaving Cert results: On behalf of our Community I’d like to say congratulations and well done to all who received they're leaving cert results on Monday. The Leaving Certificate is not only an important milestone in the lives of our young people It is also a very important moment in the lives of their Classmates, Parents and teachers and all those who have supported them along the way. We wish you all the very best of luck in the future we hope you achieve your dreams.. Athlone YIS is part of the new Youth Information Chat service, which will be open from 12 pm to 9 pm on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th September during the Leaving Cert results, and 12 pm to 9 pm on Friday 9th when the CAO offers are released.
Bingo: Online every Monday night with great prize money to be won. We will soon be back in our hall and ready to restart our usual bingo on Monday nights shortly. We would like to thank Bill from St Mary's bingo Tullamore who has helped out over the past few weeks while Stephen was absent. More next week.

Longford Learning Support: is a Registered Charity commencing classes in Longford, to assist Primary and Post-Primary School students, who have learning difficulties. Hedge cutting: As the winter approaches, Westmeath, Longford County Council advise that hedge cutting season has now started from September 1st and will continue until 28th February 2023. Overgrown hedgerows and vegetation pose potential hazards and dangers to road users. Road users are also advised to take care and keep an eye out for slow-moving hedge cutting machinery and slippery road surfaces after trimming.
Westmeath County Council: The process of seeking submissions from local groups to the County Council budget allocations for 2023 has begun. As a representative of the Council PPN, I can make a request like, examples, footpaths, public lighting, disability parking, or any road safety issues, verge grass cutting, road repairs, sweeping and water cuts etc on your behalf. If you have any requests or something you feel needs attention. I can ask them to prioritise an issue of concern. You can drop a note in the Parish Park letterbox or call 087 1375222. Deadline is Monday 12th September.
Boherquill Ramblers: There was benign late summer weather with warm sun and no wind on 28 August 2022 for the Ramblers walk in Ballynafid. A few bilberries were left on the shrubs beside the boardwalk on the way to Lough Owel and plenty of blackberries were picked beside the forest trail nearer the Lough. The group took a break on the wide stony beach to look out over the dead calm water before turning back into the forest and the road back to the car park and refreshments. The Ramblers will walk in Coolnagun Bog on Sunday 11 September 2022. Cars will meet at Boherquill Church at 2 pm for a loop walk through the bog. Community Alert: We are just waiting on the go-ahead from BeAlert to roll out a new app for your phone. This new app will replace the WhatsApp group allowing you more flexibility in the alerts you receive. In the meantime please report suspicious activity to Gardai immediately. Mullingar 044 9384000

Masses & Adoration this week Streete/Rathowen: This coming Sunday is the 24nd Sunday in Ordinary time. Vigil Mass every Saturday in Boherquill at 8 Pm. every Sunday Rathowen at 10 am. Mass this week Tuesday, Boherquill 9.30 Am. Wednesday Rathowen 9.30 Thursday, Rathowen 9.30, adoration 10 to 10.30 Friday Boherquill 8 pm. Adoration 7 – 8pm.
