Active Retirement Drop Inn Morning
Our next morning is on Thursday April 11th Aleysha from WCD, will pay us a visit to discuss some programs of events happening in the coming months which might be of interest to us, such as Yoga, Care and Repair etc., We will also have an update on our next day out and pickleball, all welcome to attend.
North Westmeath Tourism Meeting
It was great to see such a large gathering from the local area of North Westmeath at the recent Westmeath Tourism Meeting held In Streete Parish Park on Tuesday last. Among the topics discussed was how to boost tourism in our area and an update on Transport minister Eamon Ryan, strategy on improving the island’s rail network and electrification of the old Cavan Railway to Inny Junction.

WHIST Card Game
A good turnout for WHIST for beginners’ improvers and just for fun: in the parish park on Monday morning last. Whist is an easy game to learn and play and offer a new social outing for people. Expert tuition on hand. The games will resume after easter.
New Gym
We are exploring the possibility of offering one or more positions at our new gym to someone, maybe a young person considering a career in personal training or interested in becoming a fitness coach or gym instructor. This is still early days but if we have interest, it might be possible to get funding towards the training course which could open endless possibilities. Fund Raiser
Lisryan tidy Village Development Committee are organising a Teddy Bears' Picnic to support Isabella McEvoy Lisryan. Isabella is raising funds in the way of a hair cutting fundraiser with proceeds going to the Laura Lynn children hospice. your support to this great charity event would be greatly appreciated on Sunday April 14th at 2 pm at Lisryan Community Park N39 R1X8.

A big gathering at our social dance on Holy Thursday last, Magic Moments. played a great mix of country and social dance Music for everyone’s enjoyment. Next Month we have the very talented Brid Shaughnessy from Ballinalee who was one of our star performers at last year’s vintage show. A brilliant night of Dancing is guaranteed. Doors open from 9.00 till Late.

Boherquill Ramblers
The Ramblers met in Multyfarnham on Sunday 24 March 2024 for a very enjoyable walk out to Lough Derravaragh and back via a loop through Tober. On Sunday 7 April 2024 the Ramblers will meet for their Sunday walk at 2pm at Mary Lynch’s pub in Coralstown near Mullingar.
