Streete Notes 11th March 2023
Well done: What a fantastic achievement and great honour for two local ladies Cory Brady Coolnagun, Streete and Rebecca Lloyd Rathowen who will represent our country and An Garda Siochana in this year's St Patrick’s Day parade in New York City. The parade which is the biggest in the world attracts a crowd of up to two million spectators. Cory and Rebecca are among the selected uniformed members of the Gardaí who will march in the parade led by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris along Fifth Avenue. We wish the girls well and hope they have a great and memorable time.
Young Volunteering: The Parish Park Committee would love to help anyone going forward in their career prospects, who may be looking for work experience over the year as part of their School or College placement program. In return students willing to do part-time work experience at the centre will receive their experience log stamped, along with a letter of reference and a small payment contribution. Daffodil Day: Daffodil day coffee morning is this Friday 24th of March in St James’s church, Streete from 10 am until 2 o’clock. We ask that you please come out to support and contribute to this very worthy cause. We look forward to meeting new and familiar faces for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee along with some beautiful Culinary delights. If you can't make the morning, please put an envelope with your donation marked Daffodil day in the Parish Park letterbox and we will gladly forward it to Linda and Janet. Thank you.
New Signage: New road signs are now ready for collection. and I am delighted to say that after several years of requests, these welcome directional signs are now going to be put in place at designated road junctions. This will greatly help visitors find our community centre, I am grateful for the local support in helping to get this done.

SOCIAL DANCE: Friday, March 31st Music legend, Declan Aungier. Declan is one of the foremost accordion players in the country and has played all over the world. Streete has now become a great fixture on the social dancing circuit. Please come and support us and tell all your friends we are on the last Friday night of every month, dancing from 9.30 with the usual complimentary supper and a free raffle. Meet many new faces and make new friends while enjoying a great night out. admission only €10.

Boherquill Ramblers: About 20 Ramblers met in sunny weather at Clonmore car park in Mullingar on Sunday 05 March 2023 for a walk beside the Royal Canal out to Ballinea and back.
The Ramblers will meet beside the Royal Canal at The Downs near Mullingar on Sunday 19 March 2023. Take the Killucan exit from the N4, turn right over the N4, and then turn left at the brown sign for Mullingar Pewter. Turn left at the T-junction beside Mullingar Pewter, cross the bridge over the canal and the car park is on the left after 100m, under the barrier. Boots are needed for this walk. Church Notes: Masses and Adoration this week Streete/Rathowen: This coming Sunday is the 11th Sunday in Ordinary time. Vigil Mass every Saturday in Boherquill at 8 Pm. Every Sunday in Rathowen at 10 am. Mass this week Tuesday, Boherquill 9.30 Am. Wednesday Rathowen 9.30 Am Thursday, Rathowen 9.30 Am, adoration 10 to 10.30 Friday Vigil mass for St Patrick's day Boherquill 8 pm. Adoration 7 – 8 pm. Trocaire boxes are available for collection in both churches.
Farewell and thank you. This weekend marks the end of serving for two of our longest and most faithful Altar girls. Sinead and Anna Smyth. The twins have been assisting at the Alter for almost 5 years, I would like to thank both girls for their loyal, mannerly and reverent time in Boherquill Church. We wish them well in the years ahead at school and play.

Pilgrimage to Medjugorje: A pilgrimage trip will take place from the 4th to the 11th of October flying out from Knock airport. The cost of the trip is €815 to book your place contact Jerry Nally, Breda Durkin or Marian. A deposit of €100 is required to secure your place.
Rosary continues: Rathowen, every Tuesday at 7 pm and Boherquill every Thursday at 7 Pm.
Men’s Prayer Group: Every Monday in the church in Boherquill at 8 pm. New participants are always most welcome.
