ACTIVE RETIREMENT: Thank you to all who turned out to our drop-in morning last Thursday. The usual laugh, giggle and banter over a friendly cuppa was had, We are planning to visit the Bloom festival. The show is a great cultural day out and offers a huge range of practical information on everything from gardening to growing fruit, vegetables, and cooking The show runs from the 1st to the 5th of June. FIANNA FAIL BRANCH MEETING: A meeting will take place in Streete Parish Park Meeting room this coming Tuesday night at 8.30. In attendance will be Councillor Robert Troy TD and elected members. Branch meetings are organised at parish and community level so that councillors can bring you up to date on ongoing progress and for you a chance for your voice to be heard. All are welcome

COOLAMBER ICA: Coolamber ICA Guild will host a Gardening Evening in Streete Parish Park on Wednesday 24th May. Teas will begin at 7.00 p.m. and the Gardening Talk will be at 8.00 p.m. There will be plants for sale afterwards. Admission is 5 euros and both ICA members and non-members are very welcome to attend.

New Baby: Congratulations and best wishes to Kirsha and Ray Scully, the old shop Streete on the birth of their baby girl, Luna Ray. Luna Ray arrived into the world safe and well and is looking forward to cuddles and hugs from her little brother Hunter Dean, excited grandparents, aunties, uncles and family. We welcome baby Luna Ray into the world and wish Kirsha and Ray every happiness in their future together in our Parish and may their lives be filled with great health and very special moments.

STREETE VINTAGE SHOW: Reminder, our show will take place on Sunday, June 25th We ask you to spread the great news far and near, We held an open meeting on Wednesday night last. Thank you to all who turned out it is great to see support for this major parish event. Everyone is welcome to come along again this Wednesday at 8 pm to allow you to have your say. BOHERQUILL RAMBLERS: The Ramblers walked in Mullaghmeen Forest on Sunday 7 May 2023. Sunlight was filtering through the fresh green leaves of the beech trees to light up the bluebells which were a little past their best but still created widespread patches of colour. The trails were surprisingly dry underfoot, making walking very easy and pleasant. The last part of the walk was along the edge of the forest where there were extensive views east towards Oldcastle and Loughcrew cairns. On Sunday 21 May 2023, Deirdre Leavy will lead a walk at Coolamber. Cars will meet at 2 pm at the gates of Coolamber Manor.

Church Notes St Marys, Streete/Rathowen: Masses and Adoration this week: This coming Sunday is the 7th Sunday of Easter. Vigil Mass every Saturday in Boherquill at 8 Pm. Sunday in Rathowen at 10 am. Mass this week Tuesday, Boherquill 9.30 Am. Wednesday Rathowen 9.30 Am Thursday, Rathowen 9.30 Am, adoration 10 to 10.30 Friday Boherquill 8 pm. Adoration 7 – 8 pm. Easter Dues for the upkeep of the priests in the Diocese are now being collected. On behalf of all the priests, I thank you for your generous support and kindness.

Men’s Prayer Group: Every Monday in the church in Boherquill at 8 pm. New participants are always most welcome.
