a
CAKE SALE: - please note the parents group from St.Fintan’s School, Lismacaffrey will hold their cake sale in the Centre during the Big Breakfast, so you can buy a treat to bring home and also help the School.

WALKING:  it is worth while taking a trip around Streete Parish Park to see the great job done with diggers by Seamus Sullivan which cleaned up the triangle piece of land at the bottom corner of the walkway – a great improvement to the Park, so why not go for a walk and see the improvement yourself.

BOHERQUILL RAMBLERS: - The Ramblers travelled to Dublin on Sunday 7 October 2018 for a walk round the Glenasmole Reservoirs near Bohernabreena. The low level of water in the reservoirs was immediately noticeable with large stony and grassy areas which would normally be covered now above the water level. There was no shortage of 'mellow fruitfulness' on the bushes beside the trail, though, with lots of blackberries, rose hips and hazel nuts ready to be gathered. Unfortunately there was also a lot of invasive Japanese knotweed in many places.
Thank you to Mary McHugh and her brother Francis who organised the day, to Salmon's Coaches of Castlepollard and their driver Martin Fagan and to the staff in the wonderful clubhouse at the Thomas Davis GAA Club who served tasty warm scones, tea and coffee before the walk.
Next weekend the Ramblers will meet in the Talbot Hotel in Carlow for their weekend away from Friday 19 October to Monday 22 October 2018.
New members are always welcome. For details phone Philip at 087 7753612 or Nini at 086 8754411.

STREETE BOWLS: - All of our teams had home games last week. Streete B had a hard fought win against Tyrrellspass B winning out on the bonus point. In the other match at the Streete Complex, Streete A and Streete C went head to head. In a surprise result Streete C came out on top, playing brilliant bowls on the night.
Streete C Team 1: Paul Holdroyd, Francis Butler and Enda Murphy. Team 2: Marie Delamere, Martin Gaynor and Micheál Gillen. New and lapsed members are always welcome on Tuesday nights

Streete Wildlife club would like to offer its sincere sympathy to Fionnuala Denning Lisryan on the recent death of her mother.
May she rest in peace.
