Deepest sympathies: Are expressed to the Reilly Family Coralanna, on the passing of Una Reilly; Florida USA who passed away in January 2021 A funeral mass to celebrate Una’s Life was held on Saturday last with her Ashes interred in the Family plot in Coolamber. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Family WALK Day: This coming Sunday, September 24th starting at 2 p.m. Please note the 5k Competitors Run will move to a new date, yet to be decided. We would like to see families enjoying and supporting this event. We ask parents and family members to come out and support this local walk with all proceeds going to our community centre. Please remember that Streete Parish Park Complex and facilities are run by a voluntary committee that needs support so please give this a thought. TABLE QUIZ: Date for your diary.On Friday night October 6th next a Table Quiz in aid of the upcoming Ballymore WALKATHN will be held in the Crossroads Inn in Lisryan starting at 9 pm. The Quiz will be hosted by Donal McElvaney's Walkathon team and a Table of four will be 40 euro and there will be prizes galore on the night. This promises to be a fun night out so come along and enjoy the craic.
Badminton: Badminton will start back this Wednesday 20th of September at 8.30 pm in Streete Parish Park. New members, improvers and beginners of all ages are welcome to join. Please come along and tell a friend. all ages are welcome, Call Maeve at 086 3652445 or Kevin 087 1375222
Streete Wildlife Club: The Club would like to offer its condolences to the Devaney family Ballaghgowla Coolamber on the sad passing of Pat. May his soul rest in peace.
Christmas Market: The organising committee are delighted to let everyone know that the upcoming Christmas indoor market is fully booked with an amazing array of stalls and handmade crafts. The money collected will be used to purchase Christmas decorations for the hall and the remaining money will go towards the upkeep of the parish park. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase local craftsman and artisan producers and to bring them all together under one big roof for the wider community to enjoy. We encourage everyone to come out and support us on November 26th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for what promises to be a great day out and the perfect place to meet up with neighbours and friends and do some early Christmas shopping, Don’t forget we will have some delicious food vendors on the day, so you can take the day off from cooking…oh and Santa will be in his Grotto that day waiting to see all the lovely children in this part of the world. We could go on and on but it’s probably better if you just come out and see for yourselves.
Fundraiser to support ‘cattle man: A special benefit night will take place on Saturday, September 30th, at The Piker’s Lodge Gowna, in support of well-known cattleman Declan Quinn from Granard, His daughter, Natasha Egan, has set up An iDonate fundraising page to raise €15,000. Declan who is well-known with all the farmers in the local area, suffered a life-changing brain haemorrhage last December which has left him unable to regain mobility, As a result, will be wheelchair dependent and require a high level of assistance. Natasha, asks for your support to raise funds to prepare Declan’s home for his needs and to help the family ensure he receives the equipment and care required for her dad to return home and continue his rehabilitation. SOCIAL DANCING: A reminder, our next Dance is on Friday 29th September, with the legends of social dance, Shobud. The lead singer Robert Brown, hails from Big Tom Country, Castleblaney and are a long-established band that plays a great mix of country and social dance music for your enjoyment..A brilliant night of Dancing is guaranteed. Doors open from 9.00 til late

Boherquill Ramblers: The Ramblers enjoyed a walk mostly in the cool of the forest beside Lough Owel at Ballinafid in the humid weather of Sunday 10 September 2023. There was hot sun at the start of the walk but the clouds arrived and the rain started just as the group finished their after-walk refreshments. The trails were very dry with the many fallen leaves a sign of the coming autumn, although a few summer flowers were still showing their colours.
On Sunday 24 September 2023, the Ramblers will meet at 2 p.m. in Edgeworthstown at the green opposite the Maria Edgeworth Centre. If you would like to add a walk, new or old, to this year's Walks Calendar please contact Philip Epps. See boherquillramblers.ie for more information.
Church Notes St Marys, Streete/Rathowen: Masses and Adoration this week: This coming Sunday is the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Vigil Mass every Saturday in Boherquill at 8 P.m. Sunday in Rathowen at 10 a.m. Mass this week Tuesday, Boherquill 9.30 Am. Wednesday Rathowen 9.30 Am Thursday, Rathowen 9.30 Am, adoration 10 to 10.30 Friday, 8 pm with adoration 7 to 8 pm
