Computers for Beginners

Stage 1 course starting this Tuesday 27th February 7pm to 9pm This course will cover the essentials of getting started, it will help you learn the basics and enable you to gain confidence in using the Internet, send emails, create documents. and share photos online. If enough interest in progressing stage 2 will follow on. I would encourage anyone interested to contact me asap as spaces may be limited 087 1375222.

Fund Raiser

Lisryan tidy Village Development Committee are organising a Teddy Bears' Picnic to support Isabella McEvoy Lisryan. Isabella is raising funds in the way of a hair cutting fundraiser with proceeds going to the Laura Lynn children hospice. your support to this great charity event would be greatly appreciated on Sunday April 14th at 2 pm at Lisryan Community Park N39 R1X8.

Daffodil Day

Daffodil day and coffee morning is on Friday 22nd of March in Streete Parish Park from 10 am until 2 o’clock. This is a slight change of venue from St James’s, Church. We ask that you please come out to support and contribute to this very worthy cause. We look forward to meeting new and familiar faces for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee along with some beautiful Culinary delights.

If you can't make the morning, please put an envelope with your donation marked Daffodil day in the Parish Park letterbox and we will gladly forward it to Linda and Janet. Thank you.

Ladies Evening Saturday 23 March

This upcoming event is hosted by the team who put the Christmas market together and promises to be a fun filled evening of fashion tips from renowned Style Adviser Maria Carton. Maria will advise you on how to step out of your style comfort zone, Midlife Dressing, Body Confidence, Size... Matters, Smart/ Casual Dressing, the role of Accessories and where to shop the Trends for Spring 2024.

Doors open at 7 Pm with side events and trade stand, local salons, and boutiques, light refreshments, and yummy treats along with raffle the proceeds of the night will be shared with the parish Park. So, Ladies why not treat yourself. Tickets are limited and can be purchased from Denise on 087 979 8546.

Event - The Alzheimer Society of Ireland

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland, are hosting an awareness evening to make our communities more aware of Dementia how to become more-Inclusive and how to encourage people, and businesses, to be more nurturing and accepting of people living with dementia and their families in the community on Tuesday, 27th February from 7 – 9 pm. Annebrook Hotel, All welcome.

Jiving and Line Dancing

Jiving and Line Dancing lessons Sunday nights in Streete Parish Park. class from 7 to 8.30 Pm is great value at €10 pr class. So now is your chance the class will take you from complete beginner to making the right moves with confidence. All ages, improvers & advanced welcome.

Social Dance

A fantastic night of social dancing was had last Friday to the sound Ger Long from Carlingford, Ger kept the floor alive with great music all night. Next month we have Magic Moments make a welcome return to Streete. Magic Moments from Monaghan are highly popular in the social dance scene. So, tell all your friends and remember we encourage dancers to bring their dancing shoes for a great night' of dance and craic, guaranteed. Doors open from 9.00 till Late. Boherquill Ramblers

The Ramblers visited Athlone on Sunday 18 February 2024 for a new walk along part of the Old Rail Trail to the new footbridge over the Shannon and then a loop along the old canal on the western edge of the town. There were lots of people out enjoying the beautiful weather with some trees coming into blossom. The group passed a display of the work of some local poets beside the canal and later in the walk they saw the plaque marking the house where Count John McCormack lived for part of his life.

Clondra will be the Ramblers meeting point on Sunday 3 March 2024 for a walk along the western end of the Royal Canal. Cars will meet in Clondra at 2pm at the car park beside the school; turn left in the village at the bridge over the canal.   • Thursday, Rathowen 9.30am, adoration 10:00am to 10.30am.
  • Friday, Boherquill, 8:00pm with adoration 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
