Cars and Coffee: The first cars and coffee morning will take place at Streete Parish Park on Sunday 18th of February from 9 until 1 Pm. All types of interesting and classic vehicles welcome. The proceeds of the morning will go towards the replacement of the Parish Park Defibrillator and the road victims Association. Deepest Sympathies: On behalf of the Committee of Streete Parish Park and Social Dance Patrons. We kindly pass on our sincere condolences to John McGovern and family, Mullingar on the sad and untimely passing of his son Mark. Some of you will remember John as the contractor of the water scheme in the area back in the 70’s We pray for him and his family at this darkest hour and may Marks gentle soul rest in heavenly peace.
Walk: The New Year Family 5k Fun Walk held on Sunday at Streete Parish Park was yet again a great success with 47 walkers turning out despite the weather. Eamon Carthy chairman of St Christopher’s Edgeworthstown branch has asked me to convey their grateful thanks to Boherquill Ramblers and absolutely everybody who took part, donated prizes for the raffle and supported the event in any way. Well done everyone Thank you.
Camogie For Girls: Ringtown Camogie Club are running a Skills and Games workshop for under 8 U10 and U12 Girls, starting this Tuesday evening 30th Jan at 6.30 till 7.30 in Streete Parish Park. This 4 week course is a great opportunity for young girls to try out Camogie and see if they like it.
Streete Wildlife Club: Are holding a game tasting and fundraising night in Murphy’s Lisryan on Friday 16th February in memory of the late Michael Maher. Music on the night with great prizes to be won. All proceeds raised on the night will go to the Kevin Bell Trust. In memory of the late Michael Reilly. A club member that left us away to early.
Childminder: A couple in the Kilmore, Lismacaffrey area are looking for a childminder 2 to 3 days a week. If at all possible, this will include, pick up and drop off at Local primary school., If interested or know anyone that might be please contact us on 0838002150. Thanks.

Social dance: Footsteps, the band that makes you want to dance lived up to their name last Friday night with a great array of old time and modern waltz and jive music to suit all tastes. The two-piece band, all the way from North Monaghan will surely be back again, Next month we have the very talented Olivia Douglas who as always plays a great selection of dance music to please all. So, tell all your friends and remember Next dance Friday, February 23rd Dancers are encouraged to bring their dancing shoes for a great night' of dance and craic, guaranteed. Streete Watch Community Alert Group: have secured a number of Carbon monoxide and smoke alarms for senior members of our community. Please contact us if you or someone you know may need one. Paula 087 9680739 or Kevin 087 1375222 Remember, Carbon monoxide poisoning is a silent killer and occur more often during the winter, when people are more likely to use gas heaters, and solid fuel fires. Smoke alarms save lives by alerting people of a possible fire early. If either Alarms go off, you should immediately leave your home and call 999
Walking Track Membership 2024: We ask if track users could pay their membership by the end of January, please. New application forms can be found in the membership box at the entrance gate of the walking track or by calling into the girls in the park on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 10 am until 2 pm. Single membership is €20, and a family is €30. Enquiries 087 1375222. All cheques made payable to Streete Parish Park.

Boherquill Ramblers: The Ramblers walk in Longford on Sunday 21 January 2024 had to be cancelled due to bad weather. It has been re-scheduled for Sunday 04 February 2024. Cars will meet at 1pm in the car park behind Dealz on the Market Square in Longford. The Ramblers 2024 AGM will be held at 3pm on Sunday 25 February at Streete Parish Park. Details will follow later. Happy St Brigid’s Day: According to the ancient Celts, February 1st is the official start of spring! This is welcome news to us all as we all continue to shiver our way through these cold winter days. We have further cause for celebration as the St. Brigid’s Day bank holiday takes place next Monday giving us all an extra-long weekend!

Men’s Prayer Group: Every Monday in the church in Boherquill at 8 p.m. New participants are always most welcome.
