Our Vision is to be a positive focal point for the Community of Streete and District By meeting the needs of the local community in an all-inclusive way through the provision of space which supports the promotion of participation in sport, leisure, educational and recreational activities.
Streete Parish Park community centre was conceived from an idea in 1999 by a group of like-minded people who had the vision to purchase a piece of land. Their focus was to develop a community centre where people of all ages in the community could come together and take part in various sporting and leisure activities. It was from that first idea a meeting was called and a committee was formed, with relentless hard work through fundraising and sheer determination by a dedicated committee the dream was finally realised, Streete Parish Park community centre opened its doors for the first time to the public in 2003.
Today Streete Parish Park offers a wide range of fitness and sporting activities and is a hive of activity both indoor and outdoor all year round with sporting and community groups providing a wide range of activities for the community. The Centre has a seating capacity for 300 people as well as two viewing balconies, a fully equipped kitchen, and a movable stage with amplification and bar facilities, if necessary. The Centre also features an International size Basketball Court complete with electronic scoring boards and is home to Streete Warriors Basketball Club.
Streete Parish Park is also home to Inny Football Club and the midlands first indoor Bowls Club established in 2005. The Vintage Club formed in 2002 is one of the busiest in the country and every summer host one of Ireland’s biggest vintage shows. Which offers a great family day out for everyone. The Parish Park also hosts a standalone children’s creative play area and a 1Km all-weather walking track around our 11 acres of parkland sports fields which is fully lit during the winter months.
